Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
Having been involved in the vegan footwear market for many years, there is an increase in competition both from mainstream brands and vegan and sustainable brands. These brands are launching product that are quite similar rather than a distinct style or branding and are not truly sustainable. I have identified a gap in the market for a kickass vegan brand with a distinct design flair, made truly sustainably and at an accessible price point.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
We are fortunate to be in a niche market of vegan, vegetarian, sustainable as well as consumers becoming more conscious of their purchasing decisions. Covid has also brought these issues into the forefront of consumers minds.
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
Story telling is key to show the personality of our brand and also our transparency. Engaging content and including our community within this is vital and can be achieved via social channels. Being in fashion, influencer and social media are important channels. Digital marketing, brand collaborations as well as when the time is right, pop up shops to provide an experiential experience for our community. Brand awareness can be built through the founder, Alicia, being the face of the brand and expert in sustainable fashion. The vegan and sustainable communities are very supportive and this will work to our advantage.
How far have you developed this idea?:
The business has existed since 2005 and we are on pause whilst we seek funding to relaunch. The business has a proven proposition of a global customer base and sales. We have a tried and tested supply chains that are ready to hit the ground running.

I have shared this with idea with colleagues and they see the potential of the business. With the right team in place to support me, I feel the brand can be very successful.
