Erik Of London Limited (EOL) is building the first online platform and business model to empower creators to achieve digital registration and increase exploitation and monetization of intellectual property rights in their artistic works.

Traditionally, the economic balance of power has been in the hands of gatekeepers and distributors of copyrights for artistic works (art dealers, publishers, art galleries, media, corporations) rather than creators and our mission is to facilitate a direct to consumer / direct to business transaction model for art creators, with a vision to bridge the gap between physical and digital art.

Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
A majority of Talented Digital Artists are lacking access to strategic guidance, infrastructure, marketing and sales channels to register, exploit and monetize their Intellectual Property and are often reduced to helplessly display their work on internet platforms with no return on investment and risk of plagiarism, to do freelance work or to do work not all related to their talents. Traditional/Physical artists, on the other hand, are being left behind by the digitization of the world and often lacks access to and understanding of digital markets. "Art does not pay" is a well often used sentence.

We will create visibility and raise the market value of our selection of digital and traditional artists via the creation of commercial products collection made of unique and original pieces. The concept of scarcity and exclusivity will be a key Unique Selling Point of our value proposition. Our strategy will be two-fold: Premium customers will be able to access exclusive arts on scarce digital and physical format. Standard customers will be able to access exclusive art in a more affordable way, on wearable and usable commercial products.

INNOVATE UK: The applicant outlines a clearly recognisable set of issues affecting physical and digital artists and their challenges in safely disseminating their work and capturing suitable value from its physical or digital exploitation and consumption. There is good understanding and consideration of the wider factors presently influencing this need. The applicant clearly has a strong motivation for their project and their proposed solution appears well considered integrating a range of contemporary and emerging technologies, supported by others who they believe have suitable knowledge and skills. There is good motivation for the project and it is timely. The applicant is seeking to develop tools for artists to help them protect and monetise their creations. There is good motivation for this project. There is a good awareness of the lack of nearest state of the art and overall the kneaders more than fascinating. This challenge and opportunity is well identified and defined.
