Idea Overview:
Accessible luxury is all the rage. I want to move it from "fast fashion" (for example Zara collections in clothing) to the interior design domain. One of the key issues in handcrafted and handcut glass mosaic is that many homeowners and hotels are reluctant to incorporate "fixed" art into feature walls in common areas and in rooms in order to protect resale value (in the case of homeowners) and to allow flexibility in design (in the case of hotels). We have developed a process for converting any image, logo, or artwork into framed handcut glass mosaic. It allows it to be used and moved accordingly.... stunning art elements that provide the maximum in luxury and flexible accessible installations that do not require permanent adhesion and are easily hung in place.
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
Framed handcut glass mosaic can be used anyplace that art can be displayed. It is able to be used in high humidity or extreme weather conditions. We have existing designs or can provide a forum for creators and designers to create their own unique handcut designs... simply by providing the image. Within 24 hours, we will provide, cost-free, the image translated into glass mosaic and show it in the area in which the customer is thinking of using it. From the time we get the image for the desired artwork, we have the fully-customized design in the hands of the customer within 30 days.

Sector the idea belongs to:
Retail
Is there a similar idea to be found?:
No one has been able or willing to develop a framed solution for the installation of handcut glass mosaic until now. There is a huge barrier to entry. It took years of research and development to perfect the concept and the application.
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
We recently displayed our framed handcut glass mosaic product at Coverings, the largest tile show of its kind in the United States with over 1,000 exhibitors and 100,000 attendees. The reception was amazing. This solves a discrete problem and represents a huge leap forward in applying this well-established art form in a way that provides democratic innovation and maximum application.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
The ideal customer ranges from luxury and semi-luxury homeowners to corporations that wish to brand, signage companies, and hospitality.
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
Trade shows, ecommerce, Instagram, and tile distributors provide numerous channels to create maximum excitement and sales.
How far have you developed this idea?:
Completely developed. I have one partner, the factory in Mumbai, India, that is responsible for manufacturing. I am the CMO and exclusive supplier in North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean through Shinex Glass Mosaics USA.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
We just displayed the product in a $50,000 10' x 20' booth at Coverings, the largest tile show in the US. The reception from designers, architects, builders, developers, and distributors was incredible.
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:
I have videos and presentations presented at Coverings 2023, along with catalogs, testimonials and more.
