Idea Overview:
80% of brain development happens during the first 8 years from birth which is the foundation for performance during remaining life. Children in this age group are at home most of the day, which suggests that home should be considered from the learning perspective. We propose an innovative idea, Home-as-a-Learning-SPACE, to enhance the home environment, meaningful child-adult interaction and data-driven decision making. There will be one-stop EdTech solutions for educational consultation, affordable libraries, a video gallery, maintaining children's profiles, and daily meaningful activities for children.
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
B2C products/services offerings are for parents, and B2B caters to pre-schools, hobby homes, and learning centres. Parents will get daily activities on their mobiles with clear directions. They can make books available to their children at no (or affordable) cost. Children's profiles will be maintained to understand their progress and deviations. Parents can seek advice from consultants. Pre-schools can also extend these features to their parents through this portal.
The Market (B2B, B2C or Both):
Both
Sector the idea belongs to:
Information technology
Is there a similar idea to be found?:
We haven't come across the same business ideas available in the market. Pre-schools are trying to engage with parents but they are struggling currently.
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
After Quality of Education became part of the Sustainable Development Goals all the nations are looking for alternative ways to improve education. Academicians are giving increasing importance to homes, families and communities. This product can provide solutions for involving parents in this agenda. Secondly, parents (especially working mothers) want to efficiently utilize their available time for the betterment of children and look for suggestions to engage meaningfully with their children.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
Working, educated, middle-class parents coming from nuclear families with children between 1-8 years of age can become primary customers. Parents who feel the responsibility towards their children and consider that they must shape the future of their children. Parents who are ready to engage with their children but at the same time don't have enough time for the same. Parents of children go to day-care centres and hobby homes in addition to preschools.
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
We will capture the customers through various partner organizations, pre-schools, day-care centres and hobby homes, where this customer base is available in bulk. Secondly, individual customers will be reached through targeted Digital Marketing.
How far have you developed this idea?:
I am discussing the idea with potential customers. We have developed interactive web and mobile UI. Similarly, a working prototype is ready which is used for seeking customer feedback.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
Suggestions: Customers feel that there are too many options, Individual modules need refinement, modules should be connected to each other, and data security is the concern as children’s sensitive data is stored
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:
