Idea Overview:
Fully Charged Allergy-Friendly Snacks is a modern take on the classic pastry dessert snacks that all know and love. Fully Charged Snacks are gluten-free, free of the top 12 allergens, vegan, and kosher friendly. In a dedicated allergy-free facility, we manufacture fresh daily mini-muffins, brownie bites, donut drops, and calming cookies. We eliminate the need for baking or cleanup and are conveniently placed in life's most busy places.
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
We are looking to grow and expand our brand reach to college/university campuses, in the hospital or institution's cafeterias/vending and attractions (Crackin Stadium, Tacoma Dome, Wild Waves, etc), and in the airport.
The Market (B2B, B2C or Both):
Both
Sector the idea belongs to:
Retail
Is there a similar idea to be found?:
There are snack products in the market that are geared to the vegan or gluten-free, but they are not shelf-stable ready to eat snacks.
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
There are 20 million people in the US with food allergies and sensitivities. The vegan, gluten-free, allergy-friendly food sector has grown over 200% in the last ten years, and customers are willing to pay 180% more, studies say, for these types of food. Enabling customers to quickly access them outside of the home in convenient snacks is untapped market potential.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
Our first customers are mindful eaters that are health, social, and sustainably conscious but still enjoy pastry snacks. These customers are most interested in wholesome ingredients, quality products, and simple preparation instead of a product brand name or even its price. We target these customers because they are always open to and scout out new, undiscovered brands. They also have a pallet for new flavors and diverse textures. These customers understand that health-conscious foods will not have the same flavor profile and shelf life as a traditional mass-market product, and they have the disposable income to try our products.
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
Fully Charged Snacks is relatively new to social media. We want to create and develop quality video content (reels, shorts, UGC content) that promotes our story, customer experience with our snacks, health information, unique selling proposition, and the difference between our products and competitors' products. We are also investing in building out our social media retail store. We see an opportunity through the retail sales portion of social media to convert buyers faster and easier. We also engage our customers regularly by appearing doing pop-ups and special events, and routine email and PR campaigns with media professionals.
How far have you developed this idea?:
We are currently selling our project in two airports and four independent retailers. We also sell directly to customers through our website, and we are launching on Amazon in August.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
We have great product and sales traction. We need to expand our network to scale and sell more.
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:
We will provide our capability statement.

Have you looked into influencer marketing. There are some great agencies out there that work with influencers to help products like yours scale.

    Awesome!

As you plan to scale, be mindful of maintaining the quality and consistency of your products. Scaling a food business can pose challenges in terms of production, distribution, and quality control.

Also, since your target customers are health-conscious but may understand that health-conscious foods may have different flavour profiles, I suggest you consider incorporating customer education into your marketing strategy. Emphasize the positive health impacts of your snacks and educate customers on the value of your ingredients.
