Is there a similar idea to be found?:
There are quite a number of providers of Health & Social Care services in London. For example, Westminster Society, Certitude, and Camden Society are all good providers. Most of them are offering supported living housing, that has very little home life, and can be classed as an establishment. They don't tend to meet the specific needs of young persons in transition, through positive engagement using strength-based approach thinking. How else are we having lots of young persons with no sense of purpose and direction? We want to provide a distinctively unique service that seeks to use personalised data to create an environment and future life chances, where individuals' talents and abilities are enabled, develop, and supported to live a life of their dreams and aspirations.
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
In the London area alone, there are over 1300 young persons expelled from mainstream schools with learning disabilities, autism, and behavioral challenges. According to the office of national statistic, there were an estimated 432,000 economically inactive young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) as at December 2021 in the UK. As we begin to dig into these data, we are discovering those who are being impacted as a result of their disabilities, and these are the group we want to target, isolate and get to know their stories, with a view of offering personalise solutions to their needs.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
Young adults aged 17 and in transition to adulthood with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health issues.
Young adults 18 years old and above with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health issues
Parents with young adults with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health
Local Authorities and Social Services Commissioning Group
Schools, hospitals with young persons with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health who might need respite services or a secured environment to thrive
Criminal Justice System with young adults in transition who need a new direction, purpose, and enabling safe environment to discover themselves again
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
The marketplace, helps local authorities in their region to buy a range of services e.g East of England Local Government Marketplace. www.marketplace.eelga.gov.uk
Through building a strong network with Local authorities commissioning group
Through the use of social media to promote our services directly to parents/carers and young people
By working closely with local schools and colleges, to promote our services to young people in certain areas and hot spot
By building a strong network with other charities that deals with young people expelled from schools and colleges and who are not in employment due to their disabilities.
How far have you developed this idea?:
We have spoken to a wide range of people working within the local authorities' commissioning space, especially in London seeking to understand the unique needs of certain boroughs, for example, we know that they are needs for supporting people on the autistic spectrum in the London Borough of Enfield and that need is increasing not reducing.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
The conversations I've had with my colleagues with regards to proving support for people with LD, autism, and mental health have been a welcome one
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:
This bit is not yet developed.

There’s an enormous need, and it would be great to address it. Do you think there is sufficient Local Authority funding for it, or would you need to look to charity/philanthropy?
