Idea Overview:
Imagine a world where cat litter odor no longer rules your home. It's a world of scent-infused litter bags that reduce odors using scent-infusing technology that encapsulates a fresh scent or mint smell into the litter bag itself. It not only provides you with a solution to the nasty odors that come about from your litter furball, it adds a pleasant scent where it is needed most and masks the odors up to 85% with the patented scent-infusing technology.
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
There are two major uses of scent-infused plastic technology -- cat litter bags and baby diaper disposal trash bags. The idea came to me from my use of Walmart scented trash bags that I use to hold the discarded refuse that my cat deposits often in his litter box. Unfortunately, my 17-pound cat is not an anomaly. It turns out every cat owner has this issue and understands the horrid look on guests' faces when they realize that for hours they might be trapped in a house that smells like one big turd.
The Market (B2B, B2C or Both):
Business to Consumers (B2C)
Sector the idea belongs to:
Retail
Is there a similar idea to be found?:
In my rather thorough and brief research, I've found nothing comparable. It seems that the bags, and the technology, is used principally, if not exclusively, for getting rid of household garbage. The technology is most likely patented, but not for the purpose I'm envisioning.
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
Pet odor, and specifically pet litter box odor, is a particularly annoying and (let's just admit it) disgusting aspect of dealing with fluffy's (or in my case Raven's) gargantuan amounts of smelly feces and odorous urea. Most people will spend whatever it will take if they know a product like this exists. Pet owners will spend their entire inheritance on Rover or Fluffy. Give them a reason to continuously deal with a gnawing problem and they will rush to purchase it.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
First, the initial foray would be to go after pet owners, specifically cat owners. Other pets that utilize litter boxes can also be targeted. Second, the stage would be set to go after the baby diaper problem....
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
This is a product that just begs for a clever infomercial or viral TikTok video. I could oblige.
How far have you developed this idea?:
There are actually two uses in one -- as I've been using it (for holding Raven's specimens until I've had a chance to throw out the bag once filled) and, potentially, as a litter bag. As a manufacturer (not of scent-infused kitty litter bags but many other products), I know how to reverse-engineer products, find the factories that manufacture and/or have patents, and how to set up strategic partnerships. As a Duke-Educated attorney who graduated a quarter-century ago, I have the ability to do my own contracts and to negotiate terms.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
No question, the feedback has been spot-on and equivalent to a "duh" moment.
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:
I think the idea is self-explanatory in terms of its application. I can draw a stick-figure cat going to the litter box and filling it with detritus, but that would most likely be not helpful and counter-productive.

Is anyone doing a version of this already? When I do a Google search for “scented cat litter” there seems to be a lot of offerings.

Your comment applies to scented litter… not scented litter bags.
Scented litter does very little to mask the odor problem. Also, scented bags can be used as litter box liners/bags or as a waste disposal mechanism and be used with regular litter boxes or automatic.
