Idea Overview:
ServiceSquad's value proposition is centered on the idea of convenience, reliability, and trust. We provide a platform that seamlessly connects customers with local service professionals across a wide spectrum of services, ranging from home maintenance, education, event planning, to health and wellness. Our user-friendly platform is designed to enable easy booking and transparent pricing. Every service professional on our platform is thoroughly verified, with background checks and necessary certifications, to assure customers of their professionalism and reliability. By fostering a culture of trust through customer reviews, we aim to be the go-to choose for individuals and businesses alike. Students can also join for part time works.
Additional to these, we offer a dependable platform for service professionals to showcase their skills, build their reputation, and grow their client base. With ServiceSquad, service professionals have a digital partner in their growth journey.
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
It can be used by professionals, students and even service providing agencies to serve potential customers in their geographical area.
The Market (B2B, B2C or Both):
Business to Consumers (B2C)
Sector the idea belongs to:
Professional services
Is there a similar idea to be found?:
There are few startups in UK but they mostly cater to cleaning services and some handymen services. These companies focus on B2B mostly.
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
I believe there are similar ideas but they are very narrowed down. My idea is a one step solution for a common man all needs- They want their electrical faults, plumbing faults to be repaired , they can go on my app. They want a temporary tutor , our platform can provide verified professionals , they want a pet trainer we can provide that too. they want a carer with experience we can provide that too. We can provide services to all busy common people at their relevant times. We want to go with services with most in demand to providing full catalogue of services when the operations are systemised.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
Our ideal customers will be working parents, busy professionals and in some cases businesses as well.
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
1. Targeted Advertising: Use digital marketing platforms, such as Google AdWords and social media platforms, to reach target demographics. Advertising campaigns should be designed to highlight the ease, convenience, and reliability of ServiceSquad services.
2. Content Marketing: Create a blog or news section on the ServiceSquad website to share useful content related to the services offered. Topics could include home maintenance tips, wellness advice, or event planning ideas. Good content can help improve search engine ranking and build credibility with customers.
3. Social Media Engagement: Maintain an active presence on social media platforms. Share updates, engage with users, and promptly respond to comments and messages. Regularly run promotions or competitions to engage followers and encourage them to share posts.
4. Partnerships: Form strategic partnerships with other businesses that have a similar target market. Cross-promotions and joint campaigns can be beneficial for all parties involved
How far have you developed this idea?:
I have developed a business model. The services the app is going to provide and working on payroll system and doing research on other platforms.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
With increasing inflation and job losses , lot of people want to provide their services by doing freelancing. I would take example from India . A platform provides the same services and it became unicorn in only few years. I talked with potential customers mostly university professors and some working people across UK and the responses were positive.
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:
I have created a business model and currently working with university startup team and I can make a presentation if it is requested. Currently working on financials and projected financial statements.

It might be difficult to capture all sectors on launch. You might want to focus on a low hanging sector so customers have enough choice when they go to the platform. Two sided marketplaces need both sides to be working at the same time so you need a strategy to bring on the service professionals at the same time as the customers or one side will be dissatisfied.

While your idea is comprehensive, I suggest you emphasize what sets ServiceSquad apart from other startups, particularly those in the UK. Highlight the diverse range of services you offer beyond cleaning and handyman services.
In addition to digital marketing, I believe you should consider incorporating referral programs or initial discounts to incentivize users to try your platform and spread the word.
